Jacob and I will be homeschooling Peter starting this September. I will posting what we are doing each week. I just wanted to leave an overview of the year also. We are mainly using Totally Tots and 1+1+1=1 for our materials. It will be loosely taught three days a week, mainly by me. Each month we will have a different subject and each week will be further broken down from the main subject.*

September: Harvest/Fall -Apple, Pumpkins, Leaves, and Football

October: Transportation -Sea, Air, Land, Construction

November**: Feelings and Family

December**: Winter and Christmas  -Jesus, Weather, and Winter animals

January: Food -Fruit, Vegetable, Protein, Grain

February: Dinosaurs (Jacob’s domain, and I don’t know details yet)

March: Spring/Farm -Seeds, Cows, Pigs, Sheep, Chicken, Ducks

April**: Zoo -Zebra, Lion, Elephant, and Giraffe

May: Rainbows -Colors, Weather, Rainbow, God’s Promise

June**: Ocean Animals -Whales, Sharks/Dolphins, Octopus

July**: Pond Life -Frogs, Turtles, Fish

August**: Camping/Bugs -Camping/Safety, Insects, Ladybugs

*Subject to change when I need. 🙂

**Only three weeks of teaching in this month, one week off.

Update: January 12, 2012

After learning Jacob was leaving the first of December we decided to spend time as a family and not start Peter in Tot school completely. We still do the sensory tub, Peter loves it and so do we! I just switch it out every month.

Peter and I are actually starting to put our toe back into Tot School. I’ve started to make a file folder for learning about the winter and also a fun Curious George Lapbook!

We are going to be pretty lax as we come upon our time to go see Jacob graduate from Basic. Keep coming back, there will be more to come!
